Concept & feasibility

A year-round home for ski & snowboard progression in Melbourne.

Learn the fundamentals. Build confidence. Practise repeatedly. Progress from mountain-ready skills through freestyle and, one day, Big Air.

Proposed Melbourne concept — no venue or opening date has been committed.

The idea

Not an indoor ski resort.
A place to get better.

Melbourne Progression Park (MPP) is a proposed indoor ski and snowboard progression school and training park.

The concept combines structured coaching, dry-slope skill development, freestyle features, tramp-based air awareness and one signature Big Air / airbag progression feature.

The goal is simple: make repetition and progression accessible year-round, without trying to recreate a mountain indoors.

One clear pathway

Start where you are. See where you can go.

Every level should have an obvious next step — creating a reason to return, practise and progress.

01

Mountain Ready

Equipment familiarity, stance, balance, edge awareness and confidence before a first or upcoming trip.

02

Core Progression

Switch riding, ollies, nollies, presses and controlled repetition on dry slope.

03

Park Fundamentals

Terrain etiquette, wide boxes, 50-50s, pop and safe feature entry and exit.

04

Freestyle

Boardslides, rotations, narrower features, grabs and increasingly technical lines.

05

Air Progression

Tramp and controlled jump drills building air awareness and confidence.

06

Big Air

The aspirational pinnacle: advanced coaching, demonstrations and airbag progression for capable riders.

The proposed experience

Built around learning, repetition and confidence.

↘

Dry-slope progression

Short progression zones for fundamentals, flat-ground skills, park entry and repeatable technique.

▰

Boxes & rails

Wide, approachable beginner features progressing toward narrower and more technical options.

↗

Jump progression

Low-consequence pop and movement drills building toward structured air-awareness training.

◎

Coaching

Small-group progression, Mountain Ready programs, kids development, freestyle fundamentals and self-practice.

△

Air awareness

Performance trampolines and movement training designed to help riders understand body position before taking skills to features.

★

Signature Big Air

A visible endpoint to the progression pathway — subject to engineering, insurance, regulation and feasibility.

Who is it for?

From first trip to first trick — and beyond.

MPP is intended to serve different riders at different points of the same progression journey.

Where MPP is today

Concept & feasibility.

MPP is being explored as a potential new training concept for Melbourne. The current work is focused on technical feasibility, safety, insurance, supplier options and whether the Melbourne snow community actually wants it.
